Bishop Jerome H. Ross
|
|
Bishop Jerome Henry Ross, Sr. was born on April 14,1939 in Mansfield, Ohio.
He is the Senior Pastor of Triedstone Missionary Baptist Church of Columbus,
Ohio where he has served since April 26, 1966. He was appointed and consecrated
to the office of Bishop of the Full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship in April 1995.
He served as the Bishop of the Pastors Division which is comprised of over 1,000 pastors
internationally for ten years. In 2001,
Bishop Ross' 35 years of Pastoring at Triedstone and service to the community was acknowledged
by Columbus City Council and the community by naming a portion of the block on which Triedstone
is located to Jerome H. Ross Avenue. He is married to the former Patricia A. Johnson; the father of
two, Jerome Jr. (wife Melissa) and Krystal, and proud grandfather of Tiara Nicole, Jasmine Hannah,
Jalah Haley, and Justice Jerome.

- Attended University of Cincinnati, Ohio
- Ordained in the ministry - September 12, 1965
- Received Bachelors Degree in Theology from the Tennessee School of Religion in Memphis, Tennessee in January 1970
- Received Honorary Doctorate Degree in Divinity from Morris College in Sumter, South Carolina in April 1974

- Has given invocation and prayer at numerous city and state level governmental assemblies and ceremonies
- Met with President Jimmy Carter in Columbus and at the White House
- Was a member of the inauguration committee of Ohio Governor Richard Celeste
- Was invited and attended the National Pastors Summit and Reception hosted by President Bill Clinton at the White House
- Inducted into the Martin Luther King Jr. Board of Preachers (also known as
the Preachers' Hall of Fame) at Morehouse College in Atlanta in March 1998
