Trustee Monty & Dr. Loretta Wicks, Marriage Ministry & Counseling

Dr. Loretta Wicks is the daughter of the late Lester and Susie Ashley, and is the youngest of three siblings. Born and raised in Lorain, Ohio, Loretta matriculated through the Lorain City School system and is a graduate of Admiral King High School. She is a graduate of Oberlin College in Oberlin, Ohio where she received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Communication Studies. Loretta received both her Master’s and Ph.D. in Developmental Psychology from The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio, and is a Senior Professor at The DeVry University in Columbus, Ohio. Monty was born in Lorain, Ohio to the parents of Donald & Cora Wicks, and he is the oldest of nine boys. He is a graduate of Admiral King High School in Lorain, Ohio. He attended Ashland College in Ashland, Ohio where he received his Bachelor Degree in Business Administration. He received his MBA in February 2005 from the DeVry Keller Graduate School of Management. Monty is currently employed as an Sales Account Manager at Redemtech, a division of Micro Electronics, parent company of Micro Center, a giant in the computer retail industry. Monty and Loretta are active members of The Triedstone Missionary Baptist Church, "The Fellowship of Excitement" under the anointed and dynamic leadership of Bishop Jerome H. Ross. Loretta is a substitute Sunday School teacher, and a member of the Woman Be Blessed Ministries. Monty serves as the Men’s Sunday School teacher, and currently serves as Chairman of the Trustee Board. Additionally, Monty and Loretta, serve as Lead Servants of the Marriage Enrichment Ministry, a ministry that was birthed in 1996. Within this ministry, they engage in a variety of activities that focus on empowering and enriching marriages including: pre-marital and marital counseling, co-teaching The Marriage Enrichment Class, coordinating and facilitating Marriage Retreats and Seminars, and the hosting of numerous couples’ fellowship events. The two scriptures which have had a profound influence in Loretta’s life are Proverbs 3:5-6 and Romans 8:28. Monty’s favorite Bible personality is David and his favorite scriptures are Psalm 1 and Romans 8:28. Their ministry objective is to create a thirst for God in the marriage relationship. The scope of this thirst is four-fold: to allow the anointing to flow freely in the home; to bring edification to each partner; to provide examples to our young men and women; and to present God to a worldly society. Monty and Loretta recently celebrated 26 years of marriage. They reside in Columbus, Ohio. They are the proud parents of two sons: Avery Alexander, age 21, and Taylor Trent, age 15.
